Community Enhancement Fund - Draft Criteria
Minutes
The report referred to the announcement at the budget meeting of the Cabinet in February 2011 that the award of additional monies to the Borough Council from the Government's New Homes Bonus scheme would enable the Council to reinvest funding to support projects and activities within local communities.
Consideration was given to suggested criteria governing the operation of the new Community Enhancement Fund comprising £500,000 set aside for spending over the next four years.
The Cabinet resolved that:
1) the draft criteria for the Community Enhancement Fund, as set out at Annex A to the report, be endorsed subject to the imposition of an appropriate time limit for taking up grants awarded; and
2) subject to the approval of the Council, a Member panel of nine, politically balanced to comprise eight Conservative members (including two representatives from each of the Areas in the Borough and the Chairmen of the Communities and Finance and Property Advisory Boards) and one Liberal Democrat member, be established to assess grant applications and make recommendations to the Cabinet Members for Communities and Finance. Proposed membership as follows:
Councillor Mrs J Bellamy
Councillor C Brown - Chairman
Councillor D Cure
Councillor Miss J Elks
Councillor D Keeley
Councillor Mrs S Murray
Councillor Mrs E Simpson
Councillor A Sullivan
Councillor D Trice
Reasons: As set out in the joint report of the Leader and Management Team.
